Ridge Stone Golf Club is a Public, 9 hole golf course located in Sheffield, Iowa.
The course opened in 2002 and was designed by Mark Kerr.
Ridge Stone Golf Club plays from 2,437 to 3,374 yards, and there are four sets of tees to accommodate all handicaps. This is a links-style course. The rolling fairways have very few trees, and the large greens are heavily contoured and fast. Water comes into play on four holes, and there are plenty of sand and grass bunkers to swallow errant shots.
The term "Links" comes from the old Scottish courses alongside the ocean where geological processes helped shape the land. Some characteristics of these courses are rolling hills, sand bunkers, and tall native grass. Ridge Stone features four ponds, sand and grass bunkers, tall fescue, and creeks to test your golfing skills. The average green measures 7500 square feet and most are rolling.
#1 measures 582 yards from the Gold tees and 600 yards from the tips and is a dogleg left with a creek on your left and fescue on your right.
#4 pays respect to the Smith Brick & Tile plant that once was a landmark of Sheffield. You will find yourself playing through the remains of the plant as you approach the green.
#7 is the signature hole, playing along Bailey's Creek on your left and a pond on your right. You'll cross the creek approx. 60 yards short of the green.
#9, the shortest of the five par-4's, features a large pond with water fountain approx. 240 yards from the tee. The green is set into a hill just after the pond...under-hit ball = wet ball.

Beautiful, scenic, challenging, trouble, super condition over-all, four tee boxes to choose from. A real super 9 hole course, excellent fairways.

Fairways on this course are fantastic. Shame people don't treat them better. Many divits left un-replaced. Clubhouse is beautiful with full service restaurant. Staff is hit and miss. Clubhouse manager is cranky and makes you feel as if you are interupting her facebooking when you walk in. However, the day I played, a girl named Sara was working and she was fantastic. Very friendly and outgoing. This is one the nicest nine hole courses you will ever play. Also has a little par 3 course for the kids or if you want to work on short game. Great golfing here!
